New achievements hint at yet another Lips game

E-mail Print PDF

This week, 12 new achievements showed up for in the Lips achievement list, indicating that a new "Lips: I the 80s" game is on the way.  This comes fresh off of this week's release of Lips: Party Classics.

From what we can tell, the achievements point to songs from Huey Lewis & the News, Culture Club, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood showing up in the game's soundtrack.

Additionally, an entry on UK retailer play.com shows off box art and points to a release date of April 2nd (less than a month away!)  Could a new Lips game be that close to release after the last one?  We will keep an eye on this one and add any newly announced songs to the newly-created Lips: I ♥ the '80s VGbeat page.

E-mail Print PDF

Rock Band NetworkRock Band and Rock Band 2 owners on the XBox 360 should check out the in-game music store as soon as possible. 105 new songs created by the fans just debuted in the Rock Band Network! After months of waiting, this revolutionary addition to the Rock Band platform is finally live and ready for you to give it all your money. Tracks from 3 Inches of Blood, Skeletonwitch, The Main Drag, Jonathan Coulton, Children of Nova, Amberian Dawn, Flogging Molly, In This Moment, Steve Vai, Giant Target, The Slip, Skindred, Speck, and dozens more are already available in the store with more tracks coming every day. The list is far too huge to publish here, so head over to VGbeat's Rock Band Network page to see the full track list.

Since Sony and Nintendo don't have the framework in place to support the Rock Band Network, we're still waiting to find out what Harmonix plans to do to support these songs on the PS3 and Wii. Stay tuned for news on that. Until then, start your hard drives, 360 gamers.
