3/16: Rock Band is Googoo for Gaga Puffs!

E-mail Print PDF

Lady Gaga - The Fame MonsterTake some time away from just dancing and boot up Rock Band this coming Tuesday for four songs from the modern-day Madonna, Lady Gaga. Lady Gaga Pack 01 will include "Poker Face" and "Bad Romance" as well as two other songs off her smash albums The Fame and The Fame Monster. Don't worry if you're too proud to sing Lady Gaga, though, because the fifth song this week is right there with you. South Park fans should appreciate the soothing, sultry voice of Eric Cartman performing his own version of "Poker Face". Yes, really. More details, including tracks and pricing, after the jump.

Lips: I Love the '80s confirmed

E-mail Print PDF

Sure enough, after our post last week regarding the speculation surrounding another upcoming Lips game, Eurogamer has confirmed that Lips: I Love the '80s will be coming to the Xbox 360 next month.

The 40-song tracklist includes songs from Bananarama, the Buggles, Duran Duran, Kajagoogoo, and other appropriate '80s artists.  We've filled out our Lips: I Love the '80s game page with the full setlist, so check it out.  The game arrives on 4/2 but no word about US pricing/bundling.

3/9: More White Stripes, Shaimus, James Gang, and some hockey, eh

E-mail Print PDF

If you're Canadian or you just enjoy drinking milk out of a bag, then you'll enjoy next week's Rock Band DLC, which includes Neil Peart (drummer from Rush)'s rendition of the "Hockey Night in Canada" theme.  Celebrate those Canadian gold medals in hockey in style!  Also, a 3 pack of more songs from the White Stripes, a couple each from Shaimus (including "All of This" which you may remember from the original Guitar Hero) and the Futureheads, and a single from the James Gang.

The full list of tracks is after the break.

New achievements hint at yet another Lips game

E-mail Print PDF

This week, 12 new achievements showed up for in the Lips achievement list, indicating that a new "Lips: I the 80s" game is on the way.  This comes fresh off of this week's release of Lips: Party Classics.

From what we can tell, the achievements point to songs from Huey Lewis & the News, Culture Club, and Frankie Goes to Hollywood showing up in the game's soundtrack.

Additionally, an entry on UK retailer play.com shows off box art and points to a release date of April 2nd (less than a month away!)  Could a new Lips game be that close to release after the last one?  We will keep an eye on this one and add any newly announced songs to the newly-created Lips: I ♥ the '80s VGbeat page.
